I would give it 5 stars but it stopped playing videos!!!! It keeps showing up cannot play video restart device and try again, which I have multiple times now and it still happens! I have all my shows still but none will play! It worked great earlier today and before it was working perfect! I can't get any answers on support either. I went to website and couldn't get help there. I am a paid subscriber! I hope this is a minor setback and it starts running again tomorrow otherwise I will have no choice but to cancel! I am on fixed income and can't afford to pay for something that isn't working! Thank you! Full Review

Ok, now that they upgraded Hulu, it doesnt auto-log out anymore. So thats one problem fixed thank you. The new app looks better, but now i find it harder to navigate. Like some series that have both dubbed and subbed. Obviously i want to watch dubbed so every 3 episodes it changes to back to subbed. So then i have to go back to the series page then episodes list scroll to the episode i want ð¬. In short anything that was short click away now takes more steps which is more inconvenient and confusing. I hate how its hard to browse for new series. Or how whatever episode i was recently watching, the series page shows me the latest episode instead, so once again i have to go through the episodes list. Or even going to the next episode theyre is no next episode button or pop up. Can i unistall recent update?? ð¢ð¢ Full Review

Wow, it's fixed. I'm impressed. Thank you! The new app is all good with me now. *Original* Am I missing something? Where is the cast button on the main screen now? I have to go into a shows description to cast to Chromecast, then back out to resume the episode I last watched. Such BS. The new app sucks for this reason alone. The Hulu live tv app is terrible. Time consuming to use, glitchy, difficult to access both live tv and shows stored on the dvr. Many shows I click to record don't get recorded. There seem to be different agreements with the networks and shows what and when shows are recorded and available. I've used Hulu for a long time and like the non-live tv app, which somehow is still usable by me through my Roku. Hulu needs to simplify and straighten out the following: - a list of channels with the shows on now that can be used quickly, - channel switching easily without stopping and restarting casting, - how about a remote control app like Roku's which is great on a phone or tablet, -accessing and using the dvr storage - reinstituting all the great intuitive features of the non-live tv Hulu app. According to articles I read, Hulu intentionally redesigned all these things. I've used Roku, Sling, Hulu, cable, Google TV and antennas. Hulu live tv is the worst user experience of them all. Good content (at least theoretically since a lot of it is not there) and good price but not worth the hassle. There's a serious difference between the new live tv and previous non-live tv apps. The reviews should be separated between them. The new app is not a 4 or 5 by a long shot. Full Review

I love Hulu! It's one of my favorite apps, but I am going on 2 weeks without being able to use it. I keep getting and error code 3(-984). If it doesn't resolve itself soon I will need to cancel my subscription. I don't want to pay for something I can't watch! Full Review

Finding live TV is way more difficult than it should be. Also, even when I allow Hulu's traffic through my VPN the app still won't play any content. I have to completely turn my VPN off. Also, the volume on my devices is very soft. I don't seem to have the issue when casting to Chromecast. Full Review

Potential. But there's a long way to go. Video simply freezes more often than I can overlook, and there's no way to recover (even after a device restart, video goes straight back to being frozen when resuming). This happens during ads, mostly. There are some other questionable UX choices that I expect to be ironed out, but as a $40/mo subscriber, I'd like to know that when I watch something, I'll actually be able to... you know... watch something. The new update is horrible Episodes no longer start off the last spot I left it on, I can't easily scroll and it's difficult to navigate the content. I also find it extremely difficult to play the next episode and have on several occasions pressed the latest episode, which isn't much help when it's season 7 and I'm barely on season one. Also, the start up time for the app takes way longer than before. Instead of focusing on stylishness and pretty colors, the design time should focus on functionality and ease of use. Full Review

I really enjoy the app, the problem is I have the app on my phone and on my Xbox. When I add shows to my watchlist on either one it doesn't show up on the other one. So I am continuously double adding shows to make sure I have them on both devices. This gets real annoying real fast, so please fix this. Full Review

To much buffering.. it's always buffering.. playback doesn't work over half the time and have to restart the episode and then there's the commercials to watch again.. these updates and changes that were made really downgraded the performance of the app!! Latest update is way more inefficient, particularlyâ searching between seasons. It takes way more scrolling and calculating clicking to find a show, now that only two are displayed on the phone screen at a time. The "trending searches" section is a better balance between content displayed and readability. Also, screen rotates to landscape on device when it's already connected to Chromecast. I love the app for watch series and anime, but not much for movies. However, I don't like the option in the new version when you want to choose the language you want to see the episodes. Instead of keep a button inside de episode to select the languages they divided it in different version episodes. When you want to see the dub version the autoplay will not play the dub always and instead you need to keep choosing the language every time. Is kind of inoying. Full Review

I think that for the most part it's a okay app but the fact you pay a sub and still get so many ads is disgusting. For 5 more dollars a month you can ditch the ads but to me that's just being greedy. Hulu service is great, $4 extra a month for no commercials is well worth it. However, this new app design is horrid! No way to look at all your shows at once, having to scroll through shows I dont even watch/am done watching just to find what I do want to watch, the whole thing is inconvenient and clunky. And the "watch list" set up is trash, the devs need to scrap that and bring back the que. Simple and straightforward. Full Review

Ever since the last big update this app has been below performance for me. It can never remember my spot. Even if i send a text for a minute i habe to start an episode all over and find my spot. The new design is unintuitive, even with a very brief guide on how to navigate it. Spent at least an hour and still can't figure out how to view a list of movies or shows instead of being forced to look at them one at a time. Issues: First of all Hulu has been crashing a lot, and by a lot I mean waaay too much.. second of all the subtitles need improvement, there's a delay to them and I can barely see them, and yes I did tweak the settings.. and lastly, this one is an idea.. Hulu should have an offline mode, so you can download movies or shows offline and watch them . I can see the issues with this as people can just download instead of watching ads if they have the ad package.. but please figure it out. Full Review

No option to choose which language fun you want at all time. Auto play will move onto next episode. It due to English and Japanese dubbed being in the same playlist, you have to turn off auto play and select each episode which requires going back to that season and hunting down the episode. It seems like the commercials are taken over the show content. I can rewind a couple of minutes of the show without watching the same commercials I watched just a few minutes ago. I understand the need for commercials to keep the monthly subscriptions low but having to watch the same set of commercials u just watched is overkill! I love Hulu, but the app? Not so much. They have updated it within the past couple of months and should have stuck with their old platform. Shows loaded and played reliably and the old setup was user- friendly. The new version is highly unreliable; for the past few nights (!!) It doesn't matter which show I try to watch, I get an "error playing this video" message. It's a shame because the Hulu produced shows (I'm addicted to A Handmaid's Tale and The Path) are fantastic. LONG TERM CUSTOMER.Since revamp site is HORRIBLE.Cant find add ons. TRUST because Netflix did a revamping of site they kept it similar to old. HULU this is horrible for existing users can't image what's it's like for new ones. Somethings got to go back to how it was or your going to be losing this customer. The app worked for about two weeks then stopped working. I can't watch videos on it and keep getting an error message when I try to watch anything. I can still use Hulu on my computer, so the problem is with the app. The help center part doesn't work on the app either. Uninstalling and reinstalling does not work. Full Review

when I hook it up to my tv via HDMI, any episodes I play just show up as a black screen with audio. it is the only app to do this when I hook it up with an HDMI cable. Its incredibly frustrating. Not sure what it is specifically about this app that makes it do it, but all of my other apps can play and stream videos when hooked up with an HDMI cable just fine. Fix it. Full Review

The new interface is terrible, and I'm pissed off because it got rid of all the movies/shows in my que and deleted my history. Worst of all the subtitles are so tiny. I use subtitles with pretty much everything I watch because I have trouble hearing. The white subtitles are microscopic & I'm squinting just to read them. Thanks a lot hulu. Full Review
